Immigration advocates push Republicans to support path to citizenship

The article, “Immigration advocates push Republicans to support path to citizenship” was published on Thursday, February 07, 2013 6:53 PM by David Nakamura and Rosalind S. Helderman on The Washington Post. The writers of the article argue about the ongoing debate in the Republican Party whether to provide citizenship for 11 million illegal immigrants.

The article illustrates about the participation of the people of the nation towards approving the immigration reforms. Like, lobbying campaign includes Hispanic, Asian and African American groups’ and rallies in dozen cities. The article also provides opinions of various representatives and head of organizations across the state. Some of the people in power agree to grant legal status for undocumented residents. They say, “Our focus is citizenship, getting people to have the same rights as anybody else”. But, most of them disagree to legalize them or give the full rights like voting.

I thought this article was interesting and wanting to know more about it because nowadays we hear about immigration in the radio, TV, and Internet. It is also worth reading as it announces about further discussions about immigration reforms.
